Detroit Lions

The Lions boast one of the strongest 3 wide receiver cores in PPR with Golden Tate, Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr.  Despite the Lions already having a bye in week 6, ESPN ranks Tate 17th, Golladay 23rd and Jones Jr., 52nd in total PPR scoring for 2018. Tate is a clear must start averaging 6.6 receptions per game with 3 touchdowns.  Golladay averages 5.4 receptions per game and has scored 3 times.  Jones Jr., can be started regardless of his lower ranking because he is a weekly redzone threat and like his two teammates has scored in 3 of the 5 games the Lions have played.

Depending on the size of your PPR league, look to start Robert WoodsBrandin Cooks and Josh Reynolds in that priority for week 7.  The Rams are ranked 4th in the NFL in total passing yards in 2018 and rank 1 Pittsburgh and rank 2 Green Bay are both on bye.  Sean McVay’s offense with Jared Goff has proven explosive enough to power not only Todd Gurley but also multiple receivers.  Woods has been the Ram’s best receiver since week 5 when Kupp and Cooks sustained concussions.  Cooks played in week 6 and should regain form in week 7. With Kupp out with knee issues after a new injury in week 6, Reynolds will have an opportunity to further demonstrate his skill set following his 2 of 3 for 39 performance in week 5.

If you didn’t get enough of Drew Brees during week 5’s Monday night love-fest when Brees broke the all time passing record, prepare for him to continue to dominate for the remainder of 2018.  Although Brees’ receiving core is actually not that impressive after Michael Thomas, the Saints are ranked 3rd in the NFL in total scoring thanks to the league’s number one rushing yard per game offense.  Sean Payton may to try to diversify his offense and incorporate the receiving core more in week 7 after the passing game excelled with various options in week 5.  Obviously, Thomas is already a must start.  However, in 12 and 14 man leagues Cameron Meredith and Tre’Quan Smith are viable options.  Meredith broke out in week 5 catching all of his targets for 5 receptions and 71 yards.  Smith has been highly complimented by Brees and Payton and last week scored twice with 111 yards on 3 receptions.
